The historic Thanksgiving isn’t quite like what we remember from
our elementary school days.
Although there may have been some meal shared early on, the
“peace” did not last long at all…
However, we do have a national practice of Thanksgiving – of
sharing, and being thankful, and recognizing the blessings of God!
So in the spirit of that tradition, I wish you all a happy
Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day Payer - from the Iroquois tradition:
Thanksgiving
We return thanks to our mother, the Earth,
which sustains us.
We return thanks to the rivers and streams,
which supply us with water.
We return thanks to all herbs,
which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases.
We return thanks to the moon and stars,
which have given to us their light when the sun was gone.
We return thanks to the sun,
that has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye.
Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit,
in Whom is embodied all goodness,
and Who directs all things for the good of Her children.
A recognition certainly of the Creator – who blesses and
sustains. But also of some other parts of the creation that work
with the Creator to bless and sustain us.
