Lenten Moment Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday...


In the story, this is the last evening Jesus has with his disciples before the authorities arrest him and have him tried before his execution.   

It is this evening where he washes their feet to show them what his ministry has been all about
It is this evening where he eats his last meal, asking them to remember him with the bread and wine
It is this evening where he is tried  




"Maundy" derives from the Latin   Mandatum...
   
          Command       
                                 or 
                                             Commandment 

What commandment?  

To Love Each Other...   as demonstrated through the washing of feet

   "By this they will know you are my disciples, if you love one another" John 13:35
