Here
is a poem from Rumi, a 13th century Persian scholar, theologian, and
mystic. He is well known in spirituality
circles for his poems, calling the reader to a transcendence of institution,
into a deeper union with the Holy.
Here is a Rumi poem entitled “I’ll Meet You
There”:
I’ll Meet You There
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and right doing
there is a field.
there is a field.
I will meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase
“each other”
doesn’t make any sense.
doesn’t make any sense.
